New charter school in Jefferson Parish now accepting student applications
The International School of Louisiana (ISL) received approval in December to open a new foreign language immersion elementary school in Jefferson Parish. It will be the third campus for the high-performing charter school, joining the Orleans locations on the Eastbank and Westbank. Applications will be accepted Wednesday, February 1 through Friday, March 30, 2012 for the school year 2012-2013. The location of the new school will be determined soon. The school will have Spanish and French immersion programs. The new ISL campus will be accepting applications for grades K-7, expanding to K-8 in 2013-14.
Applications will be available on-line at the school’s website: www.isl-edu.org and at either of the current ISL campuses beginning February 1, 2012. Completed applications should be mailed to ISL’s admissions department at 502 Olivier Street, NOLA 70114. Application can also be dropped off during the application period at an existing ISL campus from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Eastbank campus is located at 1400 Camp St. and the Westbank campus is at 502 Olivier Street. For more information, contact the ISL Admissions Coordinator at mmarascalco@isl-edu.org.
