The Jefferson Chamber 19th Annual Crawfish Boil = most successful Crawfish Boil to date!
METAIRIE, LA – On the afternoon of Friday, May 20, 2016 the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce successfully hosted their 19th Annual Crawfish Boil under the parking garage of their office in Metairie. This year’s event, presented by Cox Louisiana, was the Chamber’s most successful Crawfish Boil to date, boasting over 700 tickets sold and over 2,300 pounds of Louisiana mudbugs served.
The event kicked off at 5:30 PM and lasted until 8:30 PM, and was graced with beautiful, breezy weather for almost its entire duration. The crawfish were freshly boiled on site and served up to perfection by Mr. Mudbug and 12 Seasons Catering. The event featured far more than just crawfish, as there was also a full spread of Cajun cuisine, including jambalaya, fried catfish, and shrimp and crab pasta. In addition, guests also enjoyed complimentary beer provided by Budweiser, wine donated by Glazer’s, soft drinks donated by Coca-Cola, sweet tea and lemonade donated by Raising Cane’s, chips donated by Zapp’s Potato Chips, an assortment of fresh baked cookies donated by Whole Foods Market, brownies donated by Sam’s Club, and specialty cakes donated by Nothing Bundt Cakes.
Additional entertainment at the Crawfish Boil included music by DJ Ronnie Roux, a photo booth, outdoor games, and raffle games with the opportunity for participants to take home a cash prize, a signed Drew Brees football donated by The New Orleans Saints, or an iPad Air, donated by Cox Louisiana.
The event was open to both Chamber members and non-members, and served as a wonderful opportunity for guests to network and make new business connections in a casual, social environment. The guest list included some of Jefferson Parish’s top business leaders, community activists, and elected officials. Notable attendee’s included Congressman Charles Boustany, Parish President Mike Yenni, and Jefferson Parish Council Woman Jennifer Van Vrancken.
