As one of the Chamber’s largest networking and social events, featuring approximately 500 attendees, the Annual Meeting highlights the accomplishments of the Chamber over the previous year and serves as a ceremonial passing of the gavel from the past Chair to the incoming Chair. The program features a high-profile guest speaker along with the official instillation of the new Board of Directors. The Annual Meeting is attended by elected officials, community and business leaders representing diverse industries.
Held on February 9, 2022 at the Alario Center in Westwego, attendees heard from from 2021 Chairman John LeBlanc of Hibernia Bank, who passed the gavel to 2022 Chairwoman Donna Austin of Peoples Health.
The keynote address featured Sheriff Joe Lopinto of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and President of the Metropolitan Crime Commission, Rafael Goyeneche. The two spoke on a variety of subjects related to crime in the Greater New Orleans region and the Jefferson Parish economy.
During the awards ceremony, the Emerging Leader Award, presented by Richard CPAs, was received by Ryan LeJeune of Peoples Health for his leadership and commitment to the Chamber and as a committee member with the Jefferson Chamber Young Professionals. Brian Moldaner of T. Baker Smith received the Chairman’s Award in appreciation for his positive contributions and dedicated service to the Chamber. LeBlanc was named the 2021 Board Member of the Year, while John Roberts of Moxey received 2021 Ambassador of the Year honors.
