As we near the upcoming year, it is time to review our leadership of the Board of Directors. The nominating committee will meet soon and as such, nominations are open for year 2013. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else to the Board, I would ask that you complete or forward the attached form (See link at the bottom of this email) and return it by November 12, 2012.
Please note that as we grow this Chamber in number and relevance, the personal commitment of our Board Members in terms of time and resources is of great importance.
In January, all Board Members will again be asked to sign a Commitment Pledge that includes in summary the following responsibilities:
- Attendance and Participation – we need you engaged in our board, committees, and venues!
- Representation and Positive Presence – we need leading ambassadors within our community!
- Strategic Planning & Implementation – we need big thinkers and forward moving leaders!
- Recruitment and Retention – we need your help in growing and retaining our membership!
- Financial Resources – we need your support and resources in fundraising events!
The Jefferson Chamber is the leading business organization in our parish and one of the most respected in the region. As we go through this board selection process, we are committed to making this organization relationship driven and results oriented. Please give this responsibility some thought and return the form at your earliest convenience.
You can return the form to Lawrence Frischhertz at Lawrence@jeffersonchamber.org or fax 504/835-3828. Additionally, you may contact me or Todd Murphy with any questions or suggestions you may have.
Realizing that there may also be some that choose not to serve on the Board of Directors but would simply like to get more engaged in one or more of our committees, space is provided to indicate that as well.
Thank you for your consideration of leadership involvement in our great Chamber of Commerce!
Sincerely,
Manny Silver
2012 Chairman of the Board
