Jefferson Chamber Board of Directors Selects Business Strategist Todd Murphy as New President
Business Leader to Promote Jefferson’s Economic Strength
Metairie, LA. – The Board of Directors of the Jefferson Chamber announced area business development strategist Todd Murphy as the organization’s new President.
Murphy, 46, recently served as a top-ranking executive in our region’s financial sector. He served as Senior Vice-President of OMNI BANK and Iberia Bank for 13 years where he guided new business development and government relations. Prior to his history in banking, Murphy led his own mortgage broker firm. He also served as a public relations expert and developed communication strategies for leading corporations and also government entities.
Murphy’s appointment was met with high praise from Jefferson Parish President John Young. Said Young, “Todd is an outstanding choice to lead our Chamber. He understands the many amenities of this parish, and his dynamic, can-do spirit will stimulate business growth in Jefferson. He is a terrific ambassador for our business community.” Greater New Orleans Inc. President and CEO Michael Hecht added, “Todd’s appointment will strengthen our regional economic development efforts. He has the skills and savvy to focus Jefferson on strategies that will lead to new business development while strengthening their current businesses. He is a smart, strong choice.”
Murphy has been an active business leader in Jefferson Parish serving on numerous boards. He is a graduate of LSU and a graduate of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute. Murphy has been honored by Gambit as one of the area’s Top 40 Under 40. He earned the Power Generation Award from CityBusiness, as well as honors from Jefferson Edge and the Jefferson Chamber.
Said Murphy, “This parish can be the economic engine of the region and the Jefferson Chamber will take the lead to promote our many business assets. We have all of the business advantages necessary to guide economic development. We will work with other business organizations to promote Jefferson and its many amenities, but the Jefferson Chamber will be at the forefront of strengthening the businesses we have, finding new companies to call Jefferson home and ushering in new families to live, work and enjoy the serenity of our community.”
Murphy is expected to raise Jefferson’s profile in Washington and Baton Rouge. He will also give the organization a stronger voice in regional business affairs.
