(Metairie, La) – Recognizing the need for attracting future residents to Kenner, the Jefferson Chamber Board of Directors voted to support Kenner’s proposed capital improvement and redevelopment plan. At the Board’s March meeting, Kenner Mayor Mike Yenni presented “Kenner 2030: Strategic Plan for a Prosperous Future,” which proposes $29 million in landscaping, beautification and other projects to make the city uniquely attractive to live.
Todd P. Murphy, President of the Jefferson Chamber says that because the plan was for beautification and infrastructure improvements that support Kenner as a whole, and not restricted to districts, the Board believes it will help attract people to want to work and live in Kenner, the largest municipality in Jefferson Parish.
The Chamber is represented on Yenni’s 35-member economic commission which helped determine the major areas of needed improvement across the city. There are currently over 70 items identified for improvement in the plan.
