This morning, the Jefferson Chamber held its monthly Stayin’ Alive Seminar featuring former New Orleans Saints wide receiver, Torrance Small, Sr.
Small spoke about playing in the NFL and his success in business after football.
“When I got signed, I didn’t know much about managing money,” Small commented. “That is something many of these athletes go through.”
Since his career in the NFL, Small has been actively involved in several ventures including the hotel business and the starting of his own construction company. “I made some bad choices,” he noted on some of his business ventures, “but I learned that participation, education, and communication (P.E.C.) is what you need when doing successful business.”
“I have met him before, but I honestly didn’t know much about his background. He definitely gave me some ideas on business,” said Tony Currera, attendee from the Ellsworth Corporation.
This will be the final Stayin’ Alive Seminar of the 2012 series sponsored by Sam’s Club. Please visit the Jefferson Chamber’s website for more information on the 2013 schedule.
