Bike Easy, a New Orleans-based bicycle advocacy organization, received a generous grant from the Regional Planning Commission (RPC) and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) to host ten free Business Bicycle Education Workshops leading up to New Orleans’ Second Annual Bike to Work Day in Mid-April.
The workshops run approximately one hour and are taught by League of American Bicyclists Instructors. They cover safe cycling skills and commuter basics that help build people’s confidence about biking on the road. Having the flexibility to schedule workshops before work or during a lunch meeting, the workshops have a capacity to reach 40-60 employees. The workshops also fulfill safety meeting requirements offices may already have in place.
