I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful Louisiana summer weather, and the slightly shorter work week. JCFA is in the full swing of summer classes, and on the hunt for our next star faculty member. As most of you are aware, JCFA has been lucky to have Anne Katherine Lene’ as our JAG Specialist for the last two years. Our JAG students/program have been recognized by the LDOE under her leadership, and she remains an important member of our family and mentor to JCFA students. It is because of AK’s strengths, and opportunities now available on our campus, that she is moving into a new position as JCFA’s Student Success Coordinator. As Student Success Coordinator she will be able to share her skills with all students, but now we must try to fill her shoes as our JAG Specialist.
You can read the job description here. A JAG Specialist needs to be energetic, devoted to student success, and dedicated to preparing students for the professional world. The Specialist should be persistent, enjoy working with at-risk young adults, and possess strong professional skills. In addition to providing direct classroom instruction, a JAG Specialist is responsible for engaging students in community service activities, helping to place students in employment/post-secondary education after graduation, and following up with students who have graduated or left the program to ensure they are successful. JAG, which stands for Jobs for America’s Graduates, is one of the most successful dropout prevention programs in the United States, and extremely important to JCFA.
If you, or a potential applicant, would like more information on the position, please let me know. This is a great opportunity for an energetic, professional individual interested in having a tremendous impact on young adults.
Warm Regards,
