(Metairie, La) – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has selected four Jefferson Parish-based businesses as Louisiana Small Business Champion Award winners. One winner, Betsie Gambel received the top award in a five state region in her category.
The awards highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs and small business owners from all 50 states and U.S. territories during National Small Business Week (June 17 – 21, 2013).

On May 15, Louisiana Economic Development will host a reception at the Governor’s Mansion in Baton Rouge to honor the state winners. The Jefferson Chamber will host a special luncheon on June 5 at Metairie Country Club to present awards to the local champions.
Any individual or organization dedicated to the support of the small business community in the United States may submit nominations for the awards. SBA judges on the local, state and national levels evaluate the nomination packages and select winners based on specific criteria.
Over the past five years, Jefferson Chamber-nominated businesses have won a total of 39 state-wide SBA awards in several different categories, including one national winner. For more information about the awards, winners and the special events, visit www.jeffersonchamber.org.
