METAIRIE, LA – The Board of Directors of the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce announced its support of the renewing Kenner road millage in the March 25 election. The renewal of the existing road tax, which expires at the end of 2017, generates $2.8 million annually. The renewal allows for continuing yearly street repairs with additional money available for road projects citywide.
“Kenner is growing rapidly as the fifth largest city in Louisiana,” said Todd Murphy, President of the Jefferson Chamber. “Renewal of this necessary road millage will provide the funds for badly-needed repairs and improvements that allow for business to continue thriving in the area.”
Early voting will be held March 11-18. Election day is March 25. For more information on the Jefferson Chamber-supported policy and legislation, please visit www.jeffersonchamber.org or contact Todd Murphy at (504) 835-3880 or todd@jeffersonchamber.org.
