BATON ROUGE – The Jefferson Chamber of Commerce held its annual Evening at the Legislature, presented by Peoples Health, on Wednesday, April 16, at the Louisiana Association of Business & Industry (LABI).
Evening at the Legislature offers leaders in the Jefferson Parish community an opportunity to learn about the legislative process and receive information on the status of key legislation critical to Jefferson Parish and the business community.
This year’s event included a legislative briefing to approximately 70 attendees, which featured presentations by President and CEO of LABI, Will Green, Secretary Susan Bourgeois of LED, and Assistant Secretary Luke Morris of the Department of Revenue, and a comprehensive overview of local, state, and federal legislative priorities.
During the program, attendees enjoyed refreshments sponsored by Ochsner Health and HUB International and a reception with members of the Jefferson Legislative Delegation, catered by Drago’s Seafood and sponsored by Cox Communications. The reception was attended by numerous elected officials at the local, regional, and state levels.
Transportation to and from the event was provided to registrants by The Port of New Orleans on a first-come, first-served basis.
Proceeds from the event support the business organization’s efforts in public policy advocacy and quality of life initiatives.
