METAIRIE, La. – The Jefferson Chamber of Commerce hosted its 16th annual Tour de Jefferson, presented by Laitram, on Sunday, October 23. A family-friendly event for cycling enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels, the bike ride started and ended at Estelle Playground in Marrero while guiding participants along scenic routes through the heart of Jefferson Parish.
“Tour de Jefferson is our largest community event of the year, and we are ecstatic to add another chapter to this great tradition,” said Jefferson Chamber of Commerce President Ruth Lawson. “The weather couldn’t have been any more perfect for the riders, and this event continues to be an incredible exhibit of the West Bank’s beauty while offering a fun, safe recreational opportunity for our region.”
Over 400 cyclists registered for the event. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce’s efforts in public policy, advocacy and quality of life initiatives, including economic, business and leadership development and education-related programming.
The Jefferson Chamber owes special thanks all of its sponsors, including Laitram, LCMC Health, Entergy, Oral Surgery Services, Premier Event Management and Bicycle World.
