NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune: Twenty-three teams experienced either the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat on the NOLA Motorsports racetrack when the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce hosted its 5th annual Grand Prix on July 13.
At 5 p.m., participating teams — each consisted of five people — convened at the starting line and took turns completing as many laps as possible in the allotted time frame.
Racing teams included: Adams and Reese, Atmos Energy, Boomtown Casino & Hotel New Orleans, Century Link, CORE Construction, Cox Louisiana, East Jefferson General Hospital, Entergy Louisiana, Event Producers, FBT Investments, Fidelity Bank, First Bank & Trust, Home Bank, IBERIABANK, Jefferson Financial Credit Union, LCMC Health, Leblanc & Schuster, Louisiana CAT, Glenn C. McGovern, Mississippi River Bank, Oracle Lighting Technology, Postlethwaite & Netterville, and Zito Companies, which was also the event’s presenting sponsor.
Oracle Lighting took home the Grand Prix Champion title, followed by Atmos Energy Louisiana in second place, and LeBlanc & Schuster in third place. Among those at the event, which is the chamber’s largest team-building event of the year, were Lynne Burkart, Phil Gunn, Barry Boudreaux, Melonie Stewart, Ryan Daul, Jan Schexnayder, Chuck Mutz, Keith Quick, Lee Stolf, Patricia LeBlanc, Bob Hecker, Millier Baudier, Troy Roussel, and Angelo Dicharia.
