METAIRIE, LA – The Jefferson Chamber will host the the 2nd Annual LiveWell Fest, presented by Laitram, on Sunday, October 21 at Lafreniere Park. Created as part of the LiveWell Jefferson campaign, the goal of the festival is to engage the community on the importance of health and wellness and to encourage physical activity.
LiveWell Fest will begin at 10 a.m. and will feature the LiveWell Eatery with delicious, local food. Guests are invited to stop by the Jefferson Marketplace, featuring healthy products, massages and vendor booths, and visit the fitness tent for free fitness classes led by Ochsner Fitness Center instructors! There will also be a kids zone with bounce houses, obstacle courses, kids yoga and more. The Fest will continue until 4 p.m. and is open to the public. Admission is FREE.
Live musical entertainment by Aaron Bejnamin, Kristin Diable, and The Bright Light Social Hour will be played throughout the day. Full details about the Fest can be found on livewelljefferson.org.
Prior to the LiveWell Fest, the 12th Annual Tour de Jefferson will start and end in Lafreniere Park. The ride offers riders 42, 28, and 13 mile routes to choose from. Scenic rest stops will be available along the routes equipped with energizing snacks and drinks. Riders are invited to meet their friends and families at the LiveWell Fest after the ride.
For those not participating in the bike ride, a 2-mile healthy tips Fun Run & Walk will be held at 9 a.m. through Lafreniere Park. The Fun Run & Walk is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome.
