If you follow us on facebook or twitter, or read “Jefferson Chamber makes membership push, tops 1,000 members in the Times-Picayune – Nola.com,” then you know that we had an extremely successful membership campaign 2 weeks ago. That campaign brought 200 new members, contacts, resources, experts to the Jefferson Chamber. As you can imagine, we are very excited about these results. We are excited to have 200 companies join our efforts to be the voice of business.
Since the campaign, I have been reflecting on what made it such a success and have come up with a few key points:
1. Passion–this process required the support of about 150 volunteers. Some were Chamber veterans and have been supporting the efforts of the chamber for years. Others were new volunteers. Current members of the chamber, who have never volunteered with us before. In all cases, these were volunteers who see a great value in what we do. They are passionate about the message they were sharing, and committed to helping their Chamber grow.
2. Communication–The process required a great deal of communication between Membership 180 and our office and between our office and our volunteers. Ultimately, it was the effective communication of our message by our volunteers to prospective members that brought it home.
3. Element of Competition and Fun–Everyone likes a good friendly competition. Driven by nothing more than egos and a desire to win, our volunteer leaders motivated their teams to give it their all.
4. A Message Worth Sharing–The Jefferson Chamber is taking action on key initiatives that enhance the environment in which we all do business. Without this item, there would be no message to share, nothing to be passionate about. We are proud of the work we are doing and are happy to be doing it on behalf of our now 1,008 members!
Thank you to our Volunteers! Welcome to our New Members!
