The Leadership Jefferson Quality of Life Session was held at the Westwego Community Center on October 13, 2015. This session bridged the kick-off retreat with the framework for the rest of the year. The day’s focus included elements that improve the quality of life/quality of place.
Mayor Michael Yenni of Kenner took the floor to address the class regarding the improvements of quality of life in Kenner. Karl Weber, Leadership Jefferson alumni and Atmos Energy Director of Public Affairs, opened the class with a presentation outlining what quality of life (and place) looks like for each participant. Zooming out, participants were engaged in an activity that brought home the point of how important it is for quality of place to take precedence.
Former Parish President Tim Coulon answered the question(s) of where the Parish has been and the projected future of Jefferson. To top off the day, Nick Frederick and Dennis Assaf welcomed the group to the Jefferson Performing Arts Theatre in Westwego. In addition, curator Lori Guin gave the class a wonderful tour of the Westwego Museum.
Many thanks to Peoples Health for being the Program Sponsor for the Class of 2016.
