Small Business Administration Announces Award Winners
(April 4, 2012) METAIRIE— The Jefferson Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 Small Business Administration (SBA) Awards. This year, Jefferson Chamber nominated businesses won nine out of ten state-wide awards.
The 2012 winners are:
Edward Vincent Lepre, International Drug Detection, LLC – Small Business Person of the Year.
Kathleen N. Mix, Delgado Community College – Women in Business Champion.
Phyllis E. Cassidy, Good Work Network – Minority Small Business Champion.
Robert C. Rispoli, RCR Cleaning Services, Inc. – Home-Based Business Champion.
Ashton J. Ryan, Jr., First NBC Bank – Financial Services Champion.
Jed S. D’Arensbourg, D A Exterminating Company, Inc. – Jeffrey Butland Family-Owned Business of the Year.
Craig Cordes, Big Easy Blends – Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Michael P. Rongey, Reliable Industries, Inc. of New Orleans – Small Business Exporter of the Year.
Bradley Hebert, Louisiana Workforce Commission, Veterans Unit – Veterans Small Business Champion, state runner-up.
The SBA Awards highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from all 50 states and U.S. territories during National Small Business Week (SBW). The President of the United States designates one week each year as SBW which will be celebrated the week of May 20, 2012.
Leading up to SBW, the Jefferson Chamber will host a special luncheon May 17, at the Crowne Plaza New Orleans Airport to honor and present awards to the local champions.
Over the past four years, Chamber businesses have won a total of 35 state-wide SBA awards in several different categories, including one national winner.
