N.O. Chamber Hosts Business Connections Seminar

April 25, 2012 by Chamber Staff

Building Real Connections in Business: Why Networking Alone Won’t Get You There

Thursday, May 10, 2012

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Jones Lang LaSalle Building

1515 Poydras St., 5th Floor Conference Room

New Orleans, LA 70112
(Click address for map)

Registration & Networking ~ 11:30 a.m. – Noon

Program ~ Noon – 1:00 p.m.

Superficial networking activities, alone, are not effective at building new, profitable business relationships.  Savvy business people know that becoming “a connection” is the key.

Please join our dynamic speaker Dr. Myra Corrello who has honed her expertise in communication, marketing, and strategy through senior leadership positions in healthcare, tourism, association management, entrepreneurship development, non-profits, and higher education. Myra holds a Bachelors degree in marketing, a Masters degree in management, and a PhD in organizational communication/organizational behavior.  She is a professional member of the National Speakers Association and served as the Association’s Chapter President in 2009.

In this seminar, you will learn how connection-building differs from networking.

Come prepared to work.  In this hands-on seminar, you’ll:

  • assess your current connections to determine what you need to focus on
  • evaluate various methods to build connections to determine which options will work best for you given your time, talents, and interest
  • prioritize the steps you can take right now to start improving your connections
  • develop your simple action plan to get you results within the week!

You’ll even learn 4 ways to make your LinkedIn profile and connections work for you!
