The Jefferson Chamber of Commerce is poised for great accomplishments in 2013. Thanks to a completed lengthy Accreditation Survey to the US Chamber; a focused strategic plan compiled after two leadership retreats; and a committed board of directors for 2013, the Jefferson Chamber will be steadfast in achieving its goals. Paramount to its success will be the continuance of establishing strong parish and regional relationships and a fundamental plan to be relevant to its members and parish stakeholders through public policy and quality of life initiatives. In the end, the results should speak for themselves!
Entrepreneur Challenge
We are excited to announce the first-ever Jefferson Parish entrepreneur challenge, the Cordina Challenge! Partnering with JEDCO and Cordina, we hope this collaboration connects our young professionals with our established business leaders through direct capital, business resources and mentorship. (See Sal LaMartina of Cordina accept the LA SBA Young Entrepreneurs of the Year Award on our Facebook) Held in conjunction with The Idea Village’s New Orleans Entrepreneur Week, entrepreneurs are urged to apply on JEDCO’s website. The company with the winning pitch will receive a business-building prize package including a membership in the Jefferson Chamber! You can find the application by clicking here.
Washington D.C. Mardi Gras
We are again bringing a group of member representatives to meet with our congressional leaders and to network with other business leaders from across the country at the annual Washington Mardi Gras. I’ll be flying up to the Hilton Washington Hotel Jan. 30, to start promoting our chamber and our businesses here. Big thanks to First NBC Bank, Rault Resources, Urban Systems Associates and Select Properties for their help in sponsoring the festivities this year. As always, we’ll be hosting a suite and participating with the Mystic Krewe of Louisianians to show Washington how Mardi Gras is really done! Our own Sen. David Vitter is the 2012 Krewe Captain.
