Prosper Jefferson: Trends HR Pros Should Know in 2021

February 17, 2021 by Emily Anderson

There have been a lot of changes in the US over the last twelve months. A new administration in the White House. The challenges faced through the COVID-19 pandemic. A shift toward remote work.  Many of these changes have impacted the way we live, work and move through the world. With so many changes in the workplace, HR pros have lots do and lots to anticipate in 2021.

That’s why JEDCO and the Jefferson Chamber teamed up to bring you a Prosper Jefferson webinar on Human Resources. Our experts will cover anticipatory changes in employment law under the new U.S. administration and trends that should be on every HR professional’s radar. Join Patti Pannell (Gotcha Covered HR) and Andrew Baer (Fisher & Phillips) on Wednesday, February 24th, at 10:00 am.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. This seminar is free and open to the public. It will be recorded and shared on the JEDCO and Jefferson Chamber websites following the event.

Andrew Baer, Fisher Phillips
Andrew has a strong background in business and brings a practical approach to employers confronted with the countless workplace issues. An attorney in the firm’s New Orleans office, Andrew relies on his background to advise and defend employers in a wide array of employment matters under both state and federal laws.

Throughout his career, Andrew has defended employers against claims of unlawful discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, workplace safety, breach of contract, violations of leave and disability laws, wage and hour violations, unfair labor practice charges, and workplace accommodation matters.

Andrew advises employers on a wide array of matters, including workplace safety, equal employment opportunity practices, the American with Disabilities Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Andrew also assists employers with drafting employee handbooks, policies, and procedures, conducting workplace trainings, and conducting internal investigations. Andrew utilizes his business background to educate employers on how to be compliant in an effective and efficient way.

While Andrew helps employers avoid litigation, he has ample experience in assisting employers when litigation occurs. Throughout his career, Andrew has handled successfully cases before administrative agencies and   both federal and state court. When litigation becomes inevitable, Andrew prides himself on developing an effective, detailed, and efficient strategy that is driven to obtain the best results possible.

Patricia “Patti” Pannell, Gotcha Covered
Patti  is a Human Resources Consultant and Civil Mediator. A native of Greenville, South Carolina, and a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, Patti was actively engaged in the practice of Labor and Employment law in her adoptive home of New Orleans for more than 25 years before following her passion of becoming an entrepreneur and starting her own business.

In 2014, she co-founded Gotcha Covered HR to provide human resources support to small and mid-sized businesses, who often lack access to professional human resources services. The team at Gotcha Covered HR customizes practical and cost-effective strategies and solutions for all things “people-related,” including workforce development, management training, private investigation and resolution of workplace complaints or disruptions, and development of legally compliant and effective personnel policies and procedures.
