Hello, and welcome to the first installment of the Jefferson Chamber Blog! Read up on the blog for crawfish tips, tricks, and the latest crawfish fashion (aka, a bib.) Then, join us on May 17th, 2019 for the Jefferson Chamber’s 22nd Annual Crawfish Boil!
For our first installment, I’ll go over 5 tips to take the PERFECT Crawfish picture! Everyone loves to post a picture of their little crawfish friend (/ feast) on Instagram or Facebook. Make all of your social media followers hit ‘like’ by using the tips below!
- Find your light
- Always make sure the sun is hitting your subject’s face. Point the crawfish towards the sun to make it shine. Turn your bright and smiling face towards the sun as well for the most flattering light! Facing the light source avoids backlighting (which results in dark pictures) and shadows.
- Turn up the color
- If you edit pictures, you can use the saturation edit option to pump up the colors of the crawfish. Those reds will look fiery, that corn will look like gold. Just make sure not to go overboard!
- Go Micro
- If you have a professional camera, use the micro setting to get an up close, detailed show of that mudbug. Show off his smile! If you are using an iPhone, point your camera lens close to the subject and tap on your screen until it focuses, until you see the details of your subject clearly. No blurry pictures at the Jefferson Chamber!
- Take some candids
- Tell a joke, then take a picture! Nothing better than a shot of your friends and family laughing. Even better, get some funny shots of your co-workers to share with your company! The Crawfish Boil is just one of our many Networking events that allow you to bond with your co-workers- take advantage of it. These types of pictures will turn out natural and cheery. Just make sure not to snap without at least warning someone- even the most candid of pictures are typically *somewhat* planned. (Insider tip!)
