Power Lunch

A select number of Young Professionals enjoyed an informative, professional development discussion with Peoples Health CEO Suzi Swoop O’Brien at Riccobono’s Peppermill on Tuesday, November 29.

Eats & EDU

Approximately 40 Young Professionals met at Desi Vega’s Seafood and Prime Steaks in Metairie for dinner, drinks and an educational presentation from Jefferson Financial Federal Credit Union CFO Casey Kucera on Tuesday, November 1. Casey provided insight into various budgeting practices and investment basics, before YPs engaged in a thoughtful Q&A session after the presentation and received a one-page takeaway highlighting the evening’s talking points. 🏦🥩🍤

Young Professionals Networking Night

Young Professionals from all over the region united on Tuesday, October 18 for YP Networking Night at Commissary Kitchen & Wetlands Sake in downtown New Orleans. The event brought YPs from numerous organizations together, including the New Orleans Chamber, New Orleans & Company, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals, 504 Ward, Jefferson Chamber Young Professionals, Young Leadership Council, Young Leaders United (United Way of Southeast Louisiana), Nomar YPN (New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors YP Network), and JNola (Jewish Next Gen).

Coffee & Community

Jefferson Chamber Young Professionals heard from Nathalie Simon, Special Counsel to the CEO & President – Public Policy Initiatives with Laitram, John Landrum, Vice President for Innovation with Intralox,  and Andrew Koehler, Commercial Operations Supervisor, with Intralox for an open discussion about corporate culture and social responsibility during Coffee & Community on Thursday, October 6 in the Chamber’s conference room. ☕️

Power Lunch

A handful of Young Professionals enjoyed an informative and open discussion with Tommy Cvitanovich, owner of Drago’s Seafood Restaurant, for a Power Lunch on Tuesday, August 16 in Metairie. 🦞

Margarita Social

One of the most popular YP events of the year, more than 65 attendees gathered for a late summer Margarita Social at Los Jefes Grill in Metairie on Thursday, August 11. 🍹

Coffee & Community

A full room of Young Professionals met with Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng on July 14 in the Chamber’s large conference room. She shared some of her personal history growing up in Jefferson Parish and discussed challenges her administration has faced the last two years as well as the progress before YPs used this open forum to ask questions. ☕️

Eats & EDU

The JCYP crew sat down for dinner at Impastato’s Restaurant in Metairie on June 21. Author, New Orleans native and culinary advocate Poppy Tooker shared insight into the history and impact of our food culture in the Greater New Orleans area. 🍝

Dog Park Social

A group of Young Professionals took their furry friends for some time outdoors and met at Pontiff Dog Park for a social on Saturday, June 11. 🐶🐾

Eats & EDU

Our Young Professionals enjoyed dinner at Andrea’s Restaurant in Metairie on May 11. Self-published author James Hayden spoke about his inspirational journey to embrace his stutter, move from embarrassment to acceptance and what caused this shift in mindset and its benefits. 🍽

Happy Hour Social at Stained Glass Wine House

YPs met on the West Bank at a new venue for Happy Hour at Stained Glass Wine House in Gretna on April 28. 🍷

Coffee & Community w/ Councilman At-Large Scott Walker

Young Professionals met with Councilman Scott Walker on April 20 in the Chamber’s large conference room. Councilman Walker believes in using technology to make government more efficient and helping build a Jefferson Parish of the future where generations to come can thrive in a “live, work, play” environment. ☕️

Power Lunch w/ Chamber President Ruth Lawson

New Chamber President Ruth Lawson met with a handful of YPs for Power Lunch on March 23 at A Tavola Restaurant and Wine Bar in Metairie. Lawson discussed her excitement leading the Chamber and answered questions from Young Professionals about advice and her career path. 🍕🥗

Eats & EDU

Our Young Professionals got together for their first event of 2022 for an evening of eating, education, and networking at Drago’s Seafood Restaurant in Metairie on January 18 🦞🦐! Erin Thompson of UnitedHealthcare and Philip Giorlando of Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, L.L.P., spoke on their perspectives and experiences with managing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in business.

Holiday Social

JCYPs enjoyed a festive evening of networking, heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and prizes to close out the year and share some holiday spirit at Andrea’s Restaurant in Metairie on December 7! 🎄🎁
